Project Overview

Conversion of an existing WC area into a fully accessible, DDA-compliant facility at 36 Broadway, directly opposite St James’s Park Underground station, within an occupied office building. The existing area was carefully dismantled — including blockwork removal — out of hours, and rebuilt with full redecoration and tiling, a fully automatic door system, a new DDA pack and modifications to the existing plumbing to suit the new layout. The works were sequenced around the working offices to keep them operating while a clean, modern, compliant facility was delivered.

Works included:

  • Careful dismantling of the existing WC area, including blockwork removal, out of hours

  • Fully automatic door system installed

  • Full redecoration and tiling to the bathroom area

  • New DDA pack fitted

  • Modifications to the existing plumbing to suit the new layout

Approach / Key Challenges
