Graduate Estimator

The role is to assist the Estimator in his duties. The ideal candidate will have a professional, pro active approach. You will be an effective communicator and be willing to learn skills in tender. This role would suit a candidate seeking a career opportunity with the ability to make the role their own and take ownership of their day to day responsibilities.

Key deliverables
• Receiving, acknowledging and checking tender documentation, raise queries as necessary
• Handle receipt and distribution of tender information and maintain good information control
• Setting up new tender enquiry
• Liaison of contract related information flow e.g. performance bond and insurance requirements request for quotation
• Assist with identifying work package
• Assist with compiling tender bid list
• Preliminary contact with supply chain to gauge interest
• Obtain and chase outstanding quotations
• Assist in financial analysis and due diligence
• Develop an understanding of drawings and specifications
• Take-off measurement from drawings
• Attend all training courses and experience modules as required under the Graduate Training scheme.
• Necessary administration duties
• To develop a detailed knowledge of the Conquest estimating system and use this as required
• To attend interviews and post tender discussion meetings
• To build up a good working relationship with our supply chain , professionals and clients

Essential skills and qualifications
• Relevant qualification (degree, RICS membership eg.)
• CSCS card holder
• Analytical and thorough

• IT literate in Excel and Word
• Confident and precise when working with numbers

Graduate Contracts Manager

Job Purpose
Responsible for assisting the Construction Manager in his duties.

The ideal candidate will have a professional, proactive approach. You will have a willingness to learn skills in managing people and progress on site as part of a project team. Key Deliverables
• To work closely with the Construction Manager .
• To work closely with the Health & Safety manager in planning the works
• To help identify problems and offer solutions prior to and during construction
• To help review drawings, the project programme and contribute where necessary
• To be aware of the existence of marketing relationships with external professionals and clients
• To actively promote Ardens’ philosophy and culture
• To produce precise and succinct reports
• To help produce logistic plans and method statements
• To attend contractor and client meetings
• To assist in the preparation of detailed programmes with the project planner
• Produce project programmes
• Develop a good understanding of project specifications
• To develop computer skills and store all information
• Implement Zero Defects Initiative
• To use and manage our procedures
• Internal reporting to line manager including keeping fully informed of issues and potential risks to the business.
